After twenty years of suffering with Fibromyalgia, a chronic condition that had me taking heavy prescription drugs just to get by, I decided to look to natural therapies that included changes to my diet and lifestyle with the hope of healing.
By implementing good nutrition and a change in lifestyle I can now live my life drug free but most importantly virtually pain free. My transition to health has been a gratifying experience, not a day goes by where I am not thankful for my newfound health.
It was around the age of 40 when I first began to struggle with my weight. It didn’t matter what I did, or didn’t do I just couldn’t keep my weight under control and eventually it led to a 20kg weight gain. The excess weight resulted in high blood pressure, chronic arthritis and the return of a knee injuring that had me walking with a limp.
To make matters worse, I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes, a diagnosis I shared with over 1.3 million Australians. By adopting a change in lifestyle and more importantly a significant change in my diet I lost the excess weight, completely reversed my diabetes and high blood pressure and have my knee back in good health where I no longer limp.
My journey to full health has impacted my life in so many ways, I am so grateful for my good health.
Growing up whilst I appeared fit and healthy on the outside, mentally I was struggling with both my memory and focus which also led to periods of depression.
I always had an interest in health and fitness, so I began to research more closely the benefits of alternative therapies.
Through diet, exercise and natural therapies I have seen an astonishing difference in my overall wellbeing, both physically and mentally.
My endurance at both work and training has increased, but more importantly my clarity and mood have improved greatly. Reaching a place of wellness, I am excited to share my experience with the people I meet in the hope that they too will be inspired to create their best self.
